TYLin provided key structural final designs associated with the Metroline seamlessly connecting Istanbul’s Railway Bosphorus Tube Crossing to the bustling eastern outskirts of Istanbul.

The Uskudar - Umraniye - Cekmekoy Metro Line is a fully subterranean project connecting the Railway Bosphorus Tube Crossing to the Umraniye and Cekmektunnoy districts. This project, constructed in the heart of a vibrant urban landscape beneath towering buildings and alongside sensitive structures, was a significant undertaking showcasing TYLin's expertise.

This project included the tunnel boring machine (TBM) and New Austrian tunneling method (NATM) excavation of a 16.7-kilometer-long main line. It features two single-track tunnels, 16 predominantly NATM-constructed underground stations, a depot connection tunnel, and structures for the depot and maintenance areas. Kisikli Station is a spacious cavern with a 210 square meter excavated area (20 meters wide and 13 meters high). It connects to the tunnels via a centered elliptical vertical shaft and an inclined escalator gallery.

TYLin led the structural final design, the Geotechnical Baseline Report (GBR), TBM segmental lining, conventional tunnel support and final lining, and emergency cross-passages. We meticulously addressed ground treatments and settlement studies throughout the project's life cycle. We implemented a comprehensive monitoring plan, demonstrating our commitment to excellence in shaping the future of underground transportation.
